Introduction

They say that the victim goes through the crime twice, the first time when he is physically killed and the second time when he sinks into oblivion. The crime of forgetting is more terrible and merciless than the crime of execution. So that the Serbian victims of Srebrenica and its surroundings do not fall into oblivion, this site reveals the truth about them and prevents the forgetting of their sacrifice. In the wider area of Srebrenica, genocide against Serbs occurred, in which 3,267 people were killed, including 72 children.

The beginning of genocide

The fate of more than 110 Serbian villages or hamlets in mixed Serbian-Muslim local communities was harsh, as they were at some point during the war, conquered and controlled by Muslim armed formations. Alongside great human suffering, these villages were almost completely destroyed or burned to the ground, and movable property was plundered and transferred to Muslim villages and their then-center, Srebrenica.

It all began, perhaps not coincidentally, on the major Serbian holiday of Djurdjevdan. Since then, we note the following sequence of Serbian suffering in the zone of responsibility of the 8th Operational Group, and from January 1, 1995, under a new name, the 28th Division of the Army of BiH.

Blječeva, predominantly Muslim village in the gentle Drina municipality of Bratunac (Serbs 71, Muslims 532, Yugoslavs 4). Local armed formations from the composition of the Army of BiH, under the leadership of Naser Orić, carried out an unprovoked attack on the Serbian part of the village on the major Orthodox holiday of Djurdjevdan on May 6, 1992, in the morning. This unexpected attack was a brutal prelude to the persecution and extermination of Serbs from the Bratunac and Srebrenica regions, occurring during intense peace negotiations between Serbs and Muslims about coexistence.

Crime without punishment

The suffering of Serbs in and around Srebrenica

The military commander of Muslim forces in Srebrenica, Naser Orić, planned and organized the ethnic cleansing of Serbian territories in the municipalities of the Birac region, where from the spring of 1992 to the summer of 1995, 3,267 Serbs were brutally killed. In the area of the municipalities of Srebrenica and Bratunac during that period, around 2,500 men, women, and children...

More than seventy children lost their lives during the Muslim aggression

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina forgave Naser Orić for the terrible crimes against civilians, the worst of which were committed against minors whose only guilt was their Serbian nationality and Orthodox faith.

Starting from April 1992 until mid-1994, members of the criminal so-called Army of BiH led by Naser Orić burned more than 150 Serbian villages and killed 3,267 Serbian residents.
